These are The Ten Things Not To Be Avoided.

<> Ntah mana aku dapat page ni.... hehehe.... ada kat bahagian2 karma.... eh... interesting jugak.... ;)

Fenot, thank you for you msg.... perut aku still sakit :( camne lunch tadik best? aku makan roti n air 100plus je... ni pun rasa terkucil ku tahan jebat....!

10 Things Not to be Avoided:-

(1) Ideas, being the radiance of the mind, are not to be avoided.

(2) Thought-forms, being the revelry of Reality, are not to be avoided.

(3) Obscuring passions, being the means of reminding one of Divine Wisdom [which gives deliverance from them], are not to be avoided [if properly used to enable one to taste life to the full and thereby reach disillusionment].

(4) Affluence, being the manure and water for spiritual growth, is not to be avoided.

(5) Illness and tribulations, being teachers of piety, are not to be avoided.

(6) Enemies and misfortune, being the means of inclining one to a religious career, are not to be avoided.

(7) That which comes of itself, being a divine gift, is not to be avoided.

(8) Reason, being in every action the best friend, is not to be avoided.

(9) Such devotional exercises of body and mind as one is capable of performing are not to be avoided.

(10) The thought of helping others, however limited one's ability to help others may be, is not to be avoided.

::If it's to be... it's up to me kan?? ::

RM850,000 and above --> Hong Kong Disneyland & Shenzen

RM2.3 million and above --> Greece & Istanbul

So??? What are you waiting for CHO???? :)

Option 1: RM850,000 for 1 year.
Meaning, minimum sales per month = RM71,000.

For the first 3 months (Jan - Mar) all sales will be times 1.5. Ok, let say Jan-Mac = RM100,000 sales... total = RM300,000. Meaning, that 3 months, I've accumulated 450,000 points. Ada lagi remaining RM400,000.

Maka, for the remaining months, I've to close at least RM50,000 per month. Eh, quite possible what... betul tak??

The question now is.... are you willing to take up the challenge???

Cik Pijah!!! Helep!!! hehehe

The police and their powers of intimate search

For what ever reason, some of you might be interested to know more about our Police 'drama' lately nieh.... and for those yang tak sempat nak baca kat The Star.. a bit panjang... but worth to read...

May I present the opinion of X-IGP, Tun Hanif Omar... (any other comments are appreciated). TQ

<>
OUR police, like all police forces, and for obvious reasons too, must have adequate powers of search of premises and of the person, in appropriate circumstances. Otherwise they would be powerless to prevent or solve most crimes. No right-thinking person would dispute this because we want peace and security, and protection from criminals and bullies.

However, from time to time, people have complained about the manner or appropriateness of the way the police have conducted themselves in the exercise of these powers. Authorities and law enforcers must appreciate! that in Malaysia they do not have carte blanche powers because not even Parliament is supreme. Only the Constitution is supreme. So, all these powers are trust powers entrusted to the authorities and law enforcers to be exercised within their parameters, for their purposes, and in the manner legally prescribed.

Otherwise, the authorities or law enforcers could be ultra vires the Constitution or some primary or secondary law. This is something that we all need to understand and subscribe to, in order to avoid unnecessary problems. So, in the context of today’s “hot potato”, everybody wants to know what exactly are the police powers of search? Can the police strip-search? Can they do more? Isn’t that demeaning, degrading, unnecessary and against human rights?

While sitting on the Royal Commission To Enhance The Operation And Management Of The Royal Malaysia Police, my fellow commissioners and I listened to many allegations of unne! cessary roughness; of confiscation of non-material items; of unearthly hours of searches; of search parties not in uniform yet resentful when challenged to show their authority cards or warrants; and of unnecessary, punitive and humiliating strip-searches.

One of the commission’s findings, at p130, is that “intimate search and strip searches [were] held not in strict accordance with prescribed regulations, sometimes due to lack of facilities”. The commission report on p340-p341 refers to one of these cases where a woman and a friend were arrested and detained with another 30 detainees in one cell (presumably large enough) without being assigned any reason for the arrest right until her release six days later without any charges preferred.

During her detention she was forced by a woman officer, in spite of her protest, to strip down completely in front of the other detainees and do the
ketuk-ketampi or ear squats for no justifiable rhy! me or reason. The commission observed that this was an infringement of human rights. It also observed that the police had no proper, standard guidelines on strip and intimate searches consonant with a modern human rights regime. It was the pious hope of the commissioners vide the report’s Recommendation No. 56 that compliance with prescribed laws and human rights would be made one of the three top priorities for the police and that efforts towards this end would be completed by June 2005.

Looking back, I would now think that the deadline for completion was probably unrealistic by at least three or four months. The primary sources of police search powers are the Criminal Procedure Code (FMS Cap 6) Section 16 (search of place entered by person sought to be arrested), s17 (search of persons {found} in place searched under warrant), s20 (search of persons arrested), s21 (power to seize offensive weapons), s22 ( search of persons i! n lawful custody for name and address ), s58 (search for persons wrongly confined), s62 (search without warrant) and s116 (search by police officer).

The present “hot potato” is really in respect of the conduct of a body search of a person. Under s17 of the CPC, when a lawful place-search is conducted, all persons found on the premises may be bodily searched “if the thing sought is, in its nature capable of being concealed upon the person”. To me the word “upon” is certainly enabling of a “body-pat” or even a strip search but it probably also allows for an intimate search because the phrase, “within the person” does not occur in the CPC in respect of searches.

The CPC does not use the terminologies “strip search” and “intimate search” but it is generally understood that a strip search is “any search involving the removal of more than outer clothing” (Butterworths {English} Police Law 2002 at p129). And an intimate search is “a s! earch which consists of the physical examination of a person’s body orifices other than the mouth. ‘Body orifices’ includes (sic) nose, ears, anus and vagina.” (ibid at p130). But this incidental body search under s17 CPC can only be done by or in the presence of a magistrate or a police officer not below the rank of inspector and, presumably, may be conducted on the premises. S63(i) pertains to a random place – search for stolen items and s116 is a place-search for documents or items and I do believe that under the circumstances mentioned in s17, a body search of persons found on the premises can also be made subject to the same strictures.

Sections 20 and 21, which pertain to search upon arrest, clearly give the right to do a body search extending to intimate searches for the right reasons as postulated in s17 except that in both sections there is no requirement for the search to be done by or in the presence of a magistrate or officer not! below the rank of inspector. These are the two sections of the CPC relied upon to enable the police to carry out strip and intimate searches on detainees. The squat exercise may be less embarrassing than a full-scale examination of the orifices but what is the holding of the ears meant to achieve beyond humiliating the person being searched?

And if these two sections are relied upon to justify the use of strip and intimate searches as a matter of routine, then those searches are done as a matter of course and without regard for the requirement of appropriate reasons for these kinds of bodily search. Then that is clearly an abuse of power and a display of insensitivity to the human rights of unconvicted detainees.

If law enforcers can be so callous about the rights of this class of people, what are the chances that they would care for the human rights of convicted criminals? We should be mindful of the “Theory of the Broken Window” espoused by
The Tipping Point (the book referred to occasionally in my column). Thus, it is clear that the primary laws under the CPC are quite bare in its safeguards against the infringements of human rights.

In respect of the body search of a woman, s19 (ii) merely says that “the search shall be made by another woman with strict regard to decency”. It does not even require the search to be performed by a woman police officer. It is possible that the law was passed soon after 1950 when body-searches of women leaving the new villages for work, necessitated by the anti-terrorist food denial operations, were conducted by policemen since there were no policewomen in service.

This had caused an uproar fanned and exploited by the communists, forcing the police to employ their wives as women searchers until 1952 when the first women constables were recruited. Under the circumstances, the new Independent Commission of Inquiry appointed by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong on Dec 1 should bring the CPC, the Police Act, the Lockup Rules and the Inspector-General’s Standing Orders on this issue in line with the best practices in human rights-aware countries such as the European Community and England. Whilst changing the primary laws – the CPC and the Police Act – can take time as they will have to be passed by Parliament, changing the Lockup Rules and the IGSOs merely require the assent of the Minister and the IGP respectively and can be done within days.

Here I would recommend the commission to read p127-131 of Butterworths {English} Police Law 8th edition on further rights of persons detained, strip searches and intimate searches. In respect of strip searches, it says at p130, “(d). Every reasonable effort must be made to minimise embarrassment. People who are searched should not normally be required to have all their clothes removed at the same time, for example, a man should be allowed to put on his shirt before removing his trousers, and a woman should be allowed to put on her blouse and upper garments before further clothing is removed.”

At p131 it says that, “Before an intimate search takes place, the reasons why it is considered necessary must be explained to the person to be searched and he must be reminded of his entitlement to have legal advice and the reminder must be noted in the custody record. “An intimate search may only be carried out by a doctor or a registered nurse, unless an inspector (or above) considers that it is not practicable and the search takes place because there are reasonable grounds for believing that an article which could cause physical injury to the detained person or others at the police station has been concealed ... and the reason for the impracticability must be recorded.”

The Lockup Rules and the IGSOs, I think, require the OCPD (officer-in-charge police district) in respect of his HQ lock-up, and the OCS (officers-in-charge police stations) in respect of his station lockup, to do a meaningful daily visit. If faithfully done, it will curb a lot of the abuses that I hear are still going on in some of the lock-ups. The recent adverse publicity on our police has badly dented their image but we must continue to support the reformers.

We must help them to overcome the resistance to change. The police leadership are very busy and change requires more time from them which, they may be afraid, will take some of their attention away from what they may consider to be more urgent.

I hope the commission will discuss this aspect as well with them and give the Government appropriate advice.

Woman football... hmm.. I still think that 45 minutes each is way too much for ladies laah. 35 minutes is just nice... Just imagine tadi... 45+45+10+10 = 110 minutes you were down there playing FOOTBALL!!! crazy bunch of fellah... hehehe I went to watch a real Woman Football @ Stadium Bukit Jalil tadi... Police vs Selangor.

Memang takde rejki Selangor to win that match. The final score was 1-1. Even after extra time pun still seri... finally they have to amik penalty. Memang nasib tak menyebelahi S'gor... 3 tendangan penalty were OUT! Gol post tu punya la besar! hehehe serious...kalau main futsal tu lain la kan...??

Masa extra time.... sume dah memang dah tak larat. Tapi tulaa.. tak de rejki S'gor... :( padahal depa main lagi bagus.... ngan budak2 Alam Megah... hmm....

I didn't realized that one of my known Birthday mate was playing for Selangor! hahaha Kapten lagi... waaa... so terre ehh..... Bagus lah... Actually, S'gor deserve to win lah.... mereka main lagi cantik. Tapi tu laa.. bukan rejki meka utk masuk final.... tapi takpe... jgn putus asa.... tahun depan cuba lagi. okeh?

me and me! :)

I'm pooped laa... :( so damn tired. Since morning, kejar sana...kejar sini... just can't wait for Tengku's appreciation dinner to be over. 3 hari je lagi. The dinner is on Monday next week. Minister is the guest of honour and most of the head of agencies under MOSTI dah confirmed datang.. So.. u can imagine laa how hectic my life for the past 1 week.

Dengan kerja azali lagi.. tambah plak ngan special projects yang datang planned and unplanned. Tapi takpe... am so happy to fill my time with so many activities. Yup, this is my contribution to the company who have sponsored me to go to UK! ;) sort of national service ni babe.... am not here for the $$$... am here to learn... to make myself a better person... and of course to become somebody in the future! :)

I still have bond..err. 2 more years! yeay! :) and at the same time... I have other back up plan in terms of acheiving financial independence... I plan to work not for $$$ but more for self satisfaction in the future.... more on doing something for my people. The Malays.... Malaysians as whole... there are so many things to be done... technology can do wonders u know...

Too bad.. currently majority of my people could not access to the technology. Digital divide is still HUGE... Majority of us stay in KL/Selangor... Internet access memang la mudah. Have u ever wonder... how is the internet penetration in Kelantan? Terengganu? Pahang? Perlis? Kedah? etc.. etc... places where majority of them are Malays?

What are we doing about it? That is why... we need to be RICH! Why? Because... when we have lots of money... we can actually do something to help and assist our people to close the digital divide! Good example.... Tan Sri Syed AlBukhari tuh... kaya giler.. and the rest is history la kan???

I want to be like him. So many things that I want to do... but with limited fund (at the moment)... I can only give out my ideas... am really looking forward to the day when I can actually go down to the root and help the less fortunate. (eh, I like the owner of Sendayu Tinggi tu...) haaa another new breed of Usahawan wanita yang pays back to the society..... Cayalah! Salute you...

okeh... almost 8pm. Going for solat jab.
take care people...

Now that it's all over, what did you really do yesterday that's worth mentioning? ~Coleman Cox

love,
Cho

Wajib baca Rukun Negara di majlis rasmi

wohooooo!!!! sape ingat lagi Rukun Negara Malaysia? ;) I believe... my sort of friends do remember the 5 pillars... or bunyi permulaan dia camni (I hope I'm rite!!!)

Bahawasanya saya, rakyat Malaysia. Berikrar.

Kalau tak betul2... tak mustahil the history can repeat by itself... :(

I'm proud to be Malaysians

Where are we heading???

Top down approach or bottom up approach? hmm... apperantly, in the area of ICT... (my opinion) Malaysia still lack of strategic direction as a whole. So, what do you think?

Where are we heading actually? Even my company now is strugling to define it. We have tried before to take bottom up approach... (proactive steps)... but u know... dealing with technology... there are lots of risk elements. No doubt the chances of success is there but not to forget the failure is huge too!

If the technology that we're proposing is a success.... no problem. but what if it is a total failure? Is it fair to blame those people who have taken the proactive steps to jump into certain areas in technology especially in ICT when the project turns out to be a failure?

No doubt that investing in technology involves huge $$$... thatz the risk... Those who does not want to take risk... they will be left behind. However, it is better if we have a Top down approach... or a total framework for the country. More directed... specific problems that have been identified (at least the MAJOR one...)...

Eh, politician... get someone who is competent to advice you laa... don't la talk politics all the time... our country needs direction maaa.... don't laa fight2 between KTAK and MOSTI... we are Malaysians maaa... need to work hand in hand.... aisey....

Aisey... headache oredy.... talk again tomorrow....

What a weekend to remember!

Yesterday was Fenot big day. I guess most of you dah tahu kan? :) The person who I've known since 9 @ 10 ehh? can't remember exactly. That time both of us were so MACHO! hahahaha

Tempat pertemuan was kat kawasan lapang skit dpn her house (now dah jadik tempat letak kete berbumbung)... masa tu dia tengah main teng teng sorang2. heheh boleh tak??

So, please do not blame me when I was a bit emotional y'day after the akad nikah thingy. hehehe ok...ok.. now I guess the whole world might know that I cried yesterday.. hahahaa it was not that I planned to cry... it happened suddenly. I was so happy for her...

Fuh kiri fuh kanan.. mintak2 laaa takde orang yang amek gambo aku masa tengah nangis semalam ek! hahahahaa

Fenot was the 2nd person in my life that I cried when seeing her finally jadi Hak Milik kekal to someone.... :) The first one was Emy Diana.... A short story.. worth reading

If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
-- Mother Teresa

true ehh... :) So, remember... RULE no. 1 - Don't judge. RULE no.2 - Don't forget RULE no.1! hahaha

A true story.. worth sharing. ..

A man came out of his home to admire his new truck.

To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck.

The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment.

When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital. Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands.

When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, " Daddy, I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but when are my fingers going to grow back?"

The father went home & committed suicide.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or u wish to take revenge. Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love. Trucks can be repaired. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't.

Too often we fail to recognise the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge.

People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

Pause and ponder. Think before you act. Be patient. Forgive & forget. Love one and all.

Who the hell is this Teresa Kok???

I just cannot believe my eyes... how come benda2 yang tak tau akan kesahihannya.... walaupun ada proof macam tu kat dlm CD or whatever multimedia.... tapi to make such claim yg orang kat dalam tu Cina ke... India ke... Melayu ke... dekat PARLIMEN plak tu.... APA KAH??? Serious aku tak faham. Si Azmi Khalid tu siap keluar kat surat khabar buat aksi macam mana perempuan tu di ketuk ketampi lagi. Ni lagi satu DOL.

Damn it laa.. Siapa Teresa Kok ni? NGO ke?
Apakah agenda di sebalik beliau dgn berani buat such claim? Dia ni nak menyalahkan or menjatuhkan siapa? POLIS? Pak Lah? or orang MELAYU (Islam) secara Am (sebab polis tu bertudung okeh....)

Sebagai anak kepada pegawai polis pencen.... ni saya nak bersuara nieh... Polis memang tak boleh nak bersuara... tapi.... sedara mara or anak beranak tak kan tu pun tak boleh? PEDULI apa rite? Kalau Teresa Kok ni dgn tanpa bukti yang kukuh dsbnya bikin gempak satu negara... apalah sangat kalau Ida Azerin Razali nak beri sedikit komen akan isi yang sedang hangat ini.

What happened to PAK LAH??? Dengan semangat untuk tidak mencemar atau mencampuri urusan POLIS sebab mereka ni tak semuanya JAHAT la weh! Mom always said... 80,000 polis. Katakan 10,000 bukan Islam, 10,000 Islam tapi tak solat.... ada lagi more than 50,000 anggota polis yang betul2 ikhlas bekerja untuk menjaga ketenteraman awam. Eh, we are rated among top 10 yang boleh menyelesaikan kes2 dgn cepat in the world okeh! Meaning... the POLICE knows what they are doing.

Yang Teresa Kok ni pandai2 nak question apa POLIS buat ni apa kes??? Kenapa Pak Lah tak defend the Police?? Why can't he said something like "I am the Prime Minister, I am the Menteri Dalam Negeri yang menjaga Polis. I'm looking at the issue rite now and I'll take the neccesary actions. The rest, please stay away from making any comments that will jeorpadize the integrity of Police force as we know what we are doing. Once the investigation is completed, we will share with the rest"...

Eh, of course la cannot reveal all.... Kalau dah semuanya nak tahu... dah takde rahsia laaa...

Masa zaman Tun Mahathir dulu.... he knows the kelemahan2 yang ada... tapi he NEVER make public statement yang boleh menjatuhkan maruah sesuatu organisasi di bawah beliau. Tak malu ke??? Senyap2 buat pembaharuan sudah lah! Dia PUJI lagi ada laa.. kalau terasa pedas... sape suruh makan CILI!

Seriously.... POLIS sekarang dah serba salah. Buat salah tak buat pun salah. Depa MOGOK tak nak buat keje padan muka. haaa tengok tu... ada lagi kes ragut... now tengah koma. So what???
The majority of the Police force is STILL CLEAN. So, why la make big fuss Terasa Kok oit!!!! Apa hal kau ni ha? (hishhh seriiously... kalau laa confirm bukan warga Cina seperti yang di claimed by Teresa Kok ni....) The PUBLIC demanded her to step down, LUCUT kan kerakyatan dia ni.

So, what u guys think lah?
I wish I could probe deeper on my thoughts tapi... masa tidak mengizinkan..... maybe I'll do it some other time... but hey.... apa kata korang share your thots plak...

cheers!
