Its been awhile I haven't update anything here... sorry eh. I was bz with my fs lately ;)
Happy New Year people! 2006... wow! I'll be 29. OMYGOD!!!! 2 more years.... 2008, 30??? SHOOTT!!! That fast ehh??
Am still going to stick with my goal which is by 35, I'll be financially independance (insyaallah!). That is the target... but if I keep focus on my objectives... I hope to achieve that before 35! yeah! Last weekend... Mama oredy bising (first time tuh!)... bila nak kawen? hahaha
I told her that I would like to do Master in Technology Management and she said... "dalam plan ko nanti takde nak kawen ke?" hahahaaa lawak siut.... I told her... tolong le carikkan! ;) terus dia senyap. Period!
Meeting pagi tadi... 4 blady hours! but it really made me thinking ler... Why are we doing R&D? Now everything can be outsourced! We can buy technology... Chinese! Indians! Koreans! Taiwanese! they are just waiting to receive our offer... and to share with you... Thatz the way of thinking of most people out there.... they just don't understand the value of R&D. Most of them think that we're just wasting our blady money and time to do R&D. The cost benefits are so SMALL!!!!
So? If everything we want to outsource.... then? what happen to our internal resources? Penat je Tun Mahathir meniupkan semangat MALAYSIA BOLEH. If the Koreans can do it... why Malaysians can't? If the Taiwanese can build their electronics industry... why can't we build the same model with our own acuan???
Why can't Malaysia has their own Samsung? LG? ok ok ... to give some background... Samsung was founded in 1938 by Byung Chull Lee. Today is 2006. Almost 70 years.... (hope my Maths is correct) and... Malaysia's independence... err 49 years?? Common... we have to start somewhere!! MIMOS baru 21 years old and people already to start bising2. Anyway, we are not a product company! So, we cannot be held responsible on why there is no such brand yang setanding Samsung or LG.
The question now is... who is responsible to develop Malaysian product companies??? Any ideas people?
Malaysia ni... no doubt, our country is peaceful and the political is quite stable if u want to compare with the neighboring countries... but somehow... our politicians nieh....some of them hanya pandai bercakap sahaja. Lepas tu... kalau buat sesuatu... national sake tu tak ada dalam hati masing2. Pikir diri sendiri dulu baru pikir pasal orang lain.
amek contoh ye.... as a Minister... they have their own set of KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) yang Pak Lah dah setkan. Too bad.. certain Ministry, depa punya outcome tu.. memang tak bleh nak short term u can see the result. So... this particular minister siap nak beli je 'ala-ala' FAST FOOD. Mi Maggi Cepat dimasak sedap dimakan.....
Tapi...adakah dia tahu yang perbuatan dia tu nanti akan membuatkan rakyat Malaysia tidak dapat membangunkan their own capacity building??? Semua technology di import dan kita hanya tahu pakai sahaja. Well... we're going back to what we used to have masa kita mula2 ada kelang2 kat Penang tuh!!! We're just an assembler! Macam robot and our people are so good in that. Keje senang... no value added langsung!!!

eh, seriously... my mata ngantuk la plak... anybody wanna add anything? feel free to add ur comments.... ada anyone keje MITI? I really wanted to know... who owns the ICT industry agenda for this country? MITI apa functionnye???

all i know MDC owns the ICT agenda in this country, MITI is for industrial and international trade kot....i've met some ppl with broad minded vision in MDC, and they have loads of ideas esp when it comes to workforce in the industry, the thing is, when it comes to implementation, banyak stumbleblock due to some inflexibility of the government policies and some of the attitude on orang atas nye side.....so the industry is not going anywhere...
Eh babe... seriously.... new CEO and perhaps total reshuffle of the entire MDC Board members will see some new changes in the ICT industry.
MOSTI pun tak focus. Semuanya nak buat. I'm really worried... no capacity building... semuanya nak beli... just imagine Malaysia lagi 10-15 years from now... SCARY!
Babe, MDC 'might' own the ICT agenda but they are not the drivers for the INDUSTRY...
We have discussed this soooo many blady times... it is MITI. But the thing is, MITI only interested in other things except ICT. so... dreba kepala ketapinya takde... gerabaknya nak pi mana dong???

babe, the way i see it, MDC also are the drivers for the ICT industry, because if not, we will have MITI people processing the application for the MSC status companies and not MDC...and MDC is the one developing MSC, that is with MITI's support and back-up la...drivers?? I doubt that very much, because most of the time any meetings regarding, they just sit there and listen and MDC will present the cases.....kata je driver for the industry, but initiative suma MDC babe...
to develop an industry, it must be business-driven i.e. no inteference from the govt.
when it's your business, your money on the line, you'll sweat blood to make it work. that's the difference between air asia and mas.

sumer nak cepat je.. the minister plak sibuk nak achieve mcm2 during his term.. in the long run nanti still face the same issues.. we do have plenty of malaysians who are brilliant and capable of developing new technologies, new gadgets etc etc.. tapi it all takes time to mature... sumer gelojoh nak dpt nama.. buy technology is never the same as developing one.
Fenot, all I can say... MDC nama je dreba... tapi tak dapat support from the top. hmm... eh kena ISA tak aku cakap camnii? hehehe
On the ICT agenda for this country... majority is driven from bottom up with no real understanding of the industry itself by the top people.
ICT is a fast moving industry. Tengok Samsung for example R&D depa... less than a month dah keluarkan new phone or new enhancement for their current products etc. Kita tempat aku ni... procurement process je dah nak dekat sebulan. belum lagi nak buat process2 yang lain. by the time benda2 ni lulus.... orang lain dah keluar new product... and kita punya equipment all dah outdated :(
Betul la kata En. Desparil tuh... the industry sendiri kena take the lead. Who is the industry??? bukannya MITI yang incharge?? There is one approach called 'Clustering' yang banyak negara seperti Korea dan Taiwan buat among their industries... and they have prooved that Clustering method is good for the development of the industry.. BUT.... our Datuk Rafidah tak percaya plak dgn that approach... so?? ada better approach?
Cik Pijah, u're correct... if we keep on buying technologies without having solid future plan of acquiring that knowledge ourself nanti jadiklah seperti Malaysia 20-30 years ago... MAn! we're moving kebelakang balik??? ayoyoooo.....

it's frustrating isn't it ? when u want to do something but then you are stopped and stuck somewhere in the middle all in the name of bureaucracy....
ICT is definitely moving fast and most of us are not fast enough to catch up the latest technology....let's just hope with the new CEO he will lead us to becoming a better driver for the industry....but i can guarantee you memang tak nampak in the short run la....long run perhaps....ppl here are putting high hopes...fresh and young blood babe...
tu la masalahnye.... sume nak cepat... sebenarnya yang payahnye nak buat the framework. Once the framework dah siap... everything will follow. Begin with the end in mind... (bak kata Pak Covey)...
Masalahnya... end in mind kebanyakkan depa ni camne nak penuhkan kocek aku cepat sebab aku hold post nieh tak lama! kwang3x...
Aku ada satu lagi issue nak utarakan.. tapi tak tau bila bleh tulis. We have all this super duper thingy kat MSC, MIMOS etc kan... rupanya our human resources tak cukup babe!!! adehh...
later meh kita tinjau kat Ministry of Education and Higher jugak... University banyak nak ditubuhkan... tapi tenaga pengajar nye kureng... ni pun satu lagi issue nieh.
